1993 - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s Terror Spree Begins

by Anthony C Heaford — updated 20 Aug 2022

Precursor Events

1171 — The Ayyubid dynasty Sultanate of Egypt was established by the brilliant military and political tactician Saladin, born in Tikrit and of Kurdish heritage. His Ayyubid dynasty promoted academia via a college system which was adopted by the pre-eminent Al Azhar University in Cairo.

1174 — On a military campaign for the Ayyubid dynastySaladin’s brother setup a base camp on a plain controlling a mountain pass between north and south Yemen. That site was and still is called Al Qa’idah, Arabic meaning The Base. Location: 13.759, 44.141

1924 —  Former British diplomat 'Jack Philby’ - also known as Sheikh Abdullah, and of being the father of infamous MI6 double-agent Kim Philby - becomes a personal advisor to Ibn Saud. He personally mapped the Saudi / Yemen border for the Sauds. They all kept the maps secret - did not share or publish them - for about thirty years, without explanation.

1929 29 March — The Battle of Sabilla, Arabia. The original Ikhwan (which translates as Bretheran) were Wahhabi desert bandits who opposed western encrouchents into Arabia via the Saudi rulers. After some horrific raids on civilian towns in neighbouring states, the Ikhwan were beaten decisively at the Battle of Sabilla. They were defeated by Saudi forces backed by British aircraft, armoured cars and machine guns. Many of the captured Ikhwan survivors became the new Saudi Arabian National Guard, and/or were resettled, some into the new provinces recently seceded by force from north Yemen.

1938 — The British Protectorate of Aden. Born in Taiz Governorate Yemen, Hayel Saeed and his brothers establish a trading company in Brtish controlled Aden, one that will become the multi-billion dollar Hayel Saeed Anam Group global conglomerate. In 1970, following Britain’s 1967 exit from Aden, they move their headquarters to Taiz city - location: 13.586, 44.033 - just seventeen miles south of Al Qa’idah town - location:  13.759, 44.141 .

1938 March 3 — Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. An American-owned oil well drilled into what would soon be identified as the largest source of petroleum in the world. The discovery radically changed the physical, human, and political geography of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and the world. Before the discovery Saudi Arabians were largely nomadic.

1962 — The Saudi state run and funded Muslim World League is established, publicly to spread Wahhabism, but really just another front against rising socialism and declining empires during the Cold War.

1967 Belgium King Baudouin gave Saud King Faisal a 99-year rent-free lease on what would become the Great Mosque in central Brussels. This was announced as part of negotiations to secure oil contracts. It was run by the Muslim World League. In 2018 Belgium ended the building lease to Saudi, transferring it to the Muslim Executive of Belgium instead. That was the recommendation of the 2016 Brussels bombings investigation that implicated the Muslim World league run Great Mosque with the attackers.

1970 — Following Britain’s ignoble exit from Aden in 1967 the Hayel Saeed Anam Group claims its businesses and property were confiscated by the nationalist forces. By 1970 they'd relocated to Taiz, a strategic city in the central highlands controlling a major route north to Sanaa. Their new headquarters was in a secure hill top compound at PO Box 5302 Taiz. Location: 13.586, 44.033. Seventeen miles north is Al Qa’idah town. Location:  13.759, 44.141

1973 17 July — The last king of Afghanistan (1933-73) Mohammed Zahir Shah is removed in an almost bloodless military coup that declared an end to the monarchy and the beginning of a republican government, led by President Daoud Khan. The last king of Afghanistan was on holiday in Italy at the time.

1973 — A counter coup launched from the Panjshir valley against Daoud Khan failed miserably. The plotters - Abdul Rasul SayyafBurhanuddin Rabbani, Ahmad Shah Massoud and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar - were forced to flee to Pakistan. Abdul Rasul Sayyaf returned to Kabul and served some prison time before being released through family connections, and before the December 1979 Soviet invasion.

1976 19 November — The Hayel Saeed Anam Group register their British office, called Longulf Trading.

1978 27–28 April — Saur Revolution, Kabul Afghanistan. The 1973 coup installed President Mohammed Daoud was murdered during a twenty-four hour coup by the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan.

1979 20 November — The Grand Mosque Seizure in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Several hundred armed militants - including Al Ikhwan forces - calling for the overthrow of the House of Saud seized the Great Mosque of Mecca, beginning a two week siege. The Saudi army (advised by French special forces) won the battle within two weeks.

1979 24 December — The USSR invaded Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires. In his 1993 interview with Robert Fisk, Osama bin Laden said he was enraged & in Afghanistan within days of the Soviet invasion.

1982 — Hayel Saeed Anam Group director Abdul Rahman Hayel Saeed gives his power of attorney to Ahmed Idris Nasreddin, a Muslim Brotherhood member and later terrorist designate by the US Treasury and United Nations. Eritran descent Nessreddin is a successful Nigerian businssman - founder of the NASCO Group. With a  net worth of $1.2-billion, it was establsihed in 1963  just one year after the Saudi funded Muslim World League began operating.

1984 13 September — Ahmed Idris Nasreddin uses Hayel Saeed Anam Group director Abdul Rahman Hayel Saeed's  power of attorney to establish a Swiss shell company called MIGA, short for the Malaysian Swiss Gulf and African Chamber. In August 2002 US Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill described Nasreddin as a "supporter of terrorism" involved in "an extensive financial network providing support to Al Qaeda and other terrorist-related organizations.  Soon after 9/11 MIGA and Ahmed Idris Nasreddin were added to the US Treasury and United Nations watchlists of entities and individuals belonging to, or affiliated with Al Qaeda. MIGA and Nasreddin were quietly removed from the watchlist in 2007, after promising not to do it again. The Hayel Saeed Anam Group is only named in a wider Fox News investigation on terrorism funding and MIGA’s other founding signatories.

1985 30 April —  An Afghan Wahhabi Mujahideen commander is the subject of a CIA Intel assessment. They described Abdul Rasul Sayyaf as a ‘divisive unifier’ in the divided politics of the seven main resistance groups operating in Afghanistan (but meeting in Peshawar Pakistan) at that time. They also said he was ‘the Arab’s fair-haired child’ and the principle conduit for the gulf Arab's substancial donations to the anti Soviet Jihad. Sayyaf's fellow Mujahideen accused him of misusing those funds to build his own insurgency organisation.

Key matters regarding Abdul Rasul Sayyaf, Ikhwan, and the Ikhwan

Born in 1946 to a Pashtun family in Paghman village in Kabul province, Sayyaf graduated from Kabul University before gaining his Islamic law masters degree at the illustrious Al Azhar University in Cairo.
Al Azhar University alumni include:

  • Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna. Assassinated 12 February 1949, likely by agents of the British backed monarch. A popular uprising starting in 1952 overthrew the monarchy. Following the 1956 Suez Crisis, control of the stratigically critical canal passed from colonial Europeans to Arabian nationalist.
  • Palestinian Jihad leader Abdullah Yusuf Azzam. He's credited with starting ‘Al Qaeda’ during an August 1988 meeting in Peshawar Pakistan. Azzam and two of his sons were assassinated while travelling to mosque on 24 November 1988. They were killed by a roadside improvised explosive device that targeted their car.
  • Afghan 'President in exile' (1996 to 2001), Burhanuddin Rabbani. He and four other members of Afghanistan's High Peace Council were assassinated by an improvised explosive device in Kabul on 20 September 2011.
  • Three leading members of the Filipino Moro Islamic Liberation Front; one KIA, one died, one negotiated.
  • A Maldives Islands President, Foreign Minister, Chief Justice and Chief Judge.
  • Nigerian businessman and Africa’s richest person Aliko Dangote. Reported 2022 net worth $19.8 billion.
  • Abdul Rasul Sayyaf. The Saudi backed Wahhabi Afghan ‘Professor’ who employed trained & mentored 9/11 terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and KSM’s nephew Ramzi Yousef, the 1993 World Trade Centre bomber. Sayyaf is a ’strongly supported’ NATO ally who ran for Afghan President in 2014. His last known refuge was in Turkey in Jan 2022, from where he continues to encourage insurrection against the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate. Click here for link to .pdf file on Abdul Rasul Sayyaf’s biography, by me, Anhony C Heaford

After returning
from studying in 1960s Egypt to a university teaching job in Afghanistan, Sayyaf became a member of the Muslim Brotherhood associated Ikhwan al-Muslimin group, established in Kabul in 1969. That included Asir, where five of the 9/11 hijackers came from. A 1970s revival of Al Ikhwan (the Ikhwan) was led by Juhayman Al Otaybi, a man born in a settlement created for Ikhwan tribes by the king that’d defeated them.

Many of Al Otaybi's relatives participated in the 1929 Battle of Sabilla during that Ikhwan uprising against King Abdulaziz, including his father, as well as his grandfather, Sultan bin Bajad al-Otaybi. Otaybi grew up aware of the battle and of how, in their eyes, the Saudi monarchs had betrayed the original religious principles of the Saudi state. Al Otaybi was an eighteen year veteran of the Saudi Arabian National Guard, but in 1979 he led the Grand Mosque seizure - an insurrection in direct opposition to al Saud dynasty western hegemony. Al Otaybi was captured tried & publicly executed by the Saudi authorities in Mecca on 9 January 1980. Juhayman said that his justification for the siege was that the House of Saud had lost its legitimacy through corruption and imitation of the West, an echo of his father's charge in 1921 against former Saudi king Ibn Saud. Unlike earlier anti-monarchist dissidents in the kingdom, Juhayman attacked the Saudi ulama for failing to protest against policies that betrayed Islam, and accused them of accepting the rule of an infidel state and offering loyalty to corrupt rulers in "exchange for honours and riches."

1986 25 September — the first successful stinger missile use in Afghanistan downed a Soviet Hind helicopter gunship. The Majahideen battle was won with the ending of Soviet air war domination. The Mujahideen and the latest weapon technology had defeated the Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

1987 — Post 9/11 recovered documents include a 1987 letter from Osama bin Laden requesting visa information for Yemen so he can join an Arab Mujahideen volunteer on a flight there the next day. One third of the Arab Mujahideen who served in Afghanistan were from Yemen. The Yemen President’s half brother, army General Ali Mohsen was one of bin Laden’s best recruiters, even visiting bin Laden in 1980s Afghanistan. It’s widely reported bin Laden gave General Mohsen $20-million to fund resettlement in Yemen of the battle scarred Arab Mujahideen returing from Afghanistan. This is when, during a 1987 visit to Yemen, I believe General Ali Mohsen showed bin Laden the valley by Al Qa’idah town in Yemen and said he could use it as a sanctuary for the war veterans to recover and recoup.  It is too close to an airport and town to be a training base. This was veteran care at its greatest. Perfect location, well funded, governemnt backed, hollistic care of men who’d fought bravely and sacrificed much for a 'greater cause'. For them it was a Jihad, a religious duty. For the CIA it was magnificent, seeing their greatest foe receive a fatal blow after ten years bleeding out militarily in Afghanistan. The CIA was in its hey day, but I doubt there was a direct relationship with either Osama bin Laden or Abdul Rasul Sayyaf at that time.

1987 — After finishing his eduction in the USA Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) was introduced by an uncle to Afghan Mujahideen leader Abdul Rasul Sayyaf. Although born in Kuwait KSM is of Pakistani/Baluchi heritage. I've read (source lost) that two of KSM's uncles were killed during the 1970s Baluch insurgency against the Pakistan state. And here was another uncle introducing KSM to the highest echelons of the 1980s Afghan Jihad.

1988 22 June — The Hayel Saeed Anam group incorporates a shipping and trading company called Pacific Interlink in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Other global investments give the Hayel Saeed Anam Group the largest share of Indonesia’s palm oil market.

1988 11 August — About fifteen major figures in the foreign Mujahideen who’d answered the call to Jihad against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan met in Peshawar and sign an agreement. It is reputedly when ‘Al Qaeda’ was first named. The reference in a later recovered document said “Al Qa’idah Al Askariya” - which better translates as - ‘the soldier’s place by the base. I believe Osama bin Laden was referring to the valley sanctuary one mile from Al Qa’idah town in Yemen, location: 13.744, 44.154.

1988 24 November — Palestinian Jihad leader Abdullah Yusuf Azzam and two of his sons were assassinated while travelling to mosque. They were killed by a roadside improvised explosive device that targeted their car. The culprits were never identified but logic would point to those who’d benefit most from his death.

1988-1992 — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf employs Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in the services office in Peshawar - managing recruits wanting to fight in Afghanistan and the like. Sayyaf was an enemy of the Taliban.

1989 15 February —  The last Soviet troops leave Afghansitan. Osama bin Laden reportedly left within weeks of the Soviet withdrawal, returning home to Arabia. He was unwilling to engage in Afghanistan's civil war.

1990 2 August — Kuwait appears to provoke an invasion from Iraq by using slant drilling methods to steal Iraqi oil from under the border, and making gross and insulting public statements. Saddam Hussain obliged and we got the completely fake ‘they’re throwing babies out of incubators’ testimonies from Washington.

1991 — Osama bin Laden was exiled from his home in Arabia by the Saudi regime because he opposed the presence of the US military in Arabia. He is reported to have first travelled to civil war ravaged Afghanistan before being given sanctuary in Sudan.

1991 26 December  Algerian elections returned a Muslim Brotherhood victory but the results were not honoured. A bitter and brutal ten year civil war followed.

1991/92 — CIA contractor Billy Waugh claims he was spying on Osama bin Laden in Sudan. That assignment appears to have ended without finding evidence of any criminal activity, as per Telegraph journalist Robert Fisk’s November 1993 interview with bin Laden, titled “Anti-Soviet Warrior Puts His Army On The Road to Peace”.

1992 6 April — Bosnian War begins, deliberately engineered by the CIA according to CIA veteran Robert Baer.

1993

26 February 1993 - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s Terror Spree Begins

1993 — Hayel Saeed Anam Group vice-chairman / Longulf Trading managing director Dirhem Abdo Saeed is made honorary-vice-chairman of the newly formed British Yemeni Society.

1993 — My employer sells their first printing machine to the Hayel Saeed Anam Group in Yemen. My employer’s US salesman, Dave Dean, is ex-US Special Forces. He was trained in HALO parachute insertion by Billy Waugh when they both served in the top-secret MACV-SOG unit during the US war in Vietnam. It was Dean’s own technician, my brother Paul Heaford, who went to Yemen to install that first machine in Yemen. My employer got a Queens Award for Export Achievement in 1995. The 1993 machine installation in Yemen was at a Hayel Saeed Anam Group industrial estate, about fifteen miles south of Al Qa’idah town.

1993 26 February — World Trade Center bombing New York. Claimed by the 5th Battalion of the Liberation Army. Carried out by Ramzi Yousef & supported by his Uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Both men trained by Afghan NATO ally Abdul Rasul Sayyaf.  Six civilians and an unborn baby were murdered in the explosion but Yousef’s hope to kill 250,000 people by collapsing one tower into another did not succeed.

1993 30 May — AFP report a Jihadi training camp in Afghanistan and a group called Al Ka’ida financed by a rich Saudi business man called Ossama ibn Laden. I beleive this was a CIA Deep State planted story; a psyop and power manoeuvre to gain leverage over the people using the Base by Al Qa’idah town in Yemen.

1993 6 November — Osama bin Laden interviewed in Sudan by Robert Fisk. Published article was titled:
Anti-Soviet Warrior Puts His Army On The Road to Peace”.

_____________________________________________

1994 — May to July. Al Ka’ida fight in the Yemen civil war between the Saudi backed southern separatists and US backed unionists in the north. Al Ka’ida fighters were on the US backed unionist side, fighting against Saudi backed southern separatists. Those Al Ka’ida fighters were very likely trained by CIA contractor Billy Waugh in 1993/94. Waugh admits in his 2004 autobiography training Al Ka'ida fighters in 1990s Yemen, saying they were intent on attacking ‘the West’.

1994/95Ramzi Yousef, KSM and others in Manila, making explosives and practicing remote bombings. First they test plant a delayed detonation bomb in a Cebu City shopping center generator room. Back in Manila they injure several with a bomb in a cinema on 1 December 1994. And then they killed a random airline passenger - 24-year-old Japanese businessman Haruki Ikegam - on 11 December 1994I was in the Philippines for four months in 1994 and I think - I believe I did - see KSM in Manila in April, one man in a group going into the Hobbit House restaurant, just around the corner from my hostel, the Malate Pension.

1995 — My employer received a Queens Award for Export Achievement in 1995, after selling a machine to a terrorism financing linked Hayel Saeed Anam Group global conglomerate in 1993 Yemen.

1995 4 November — Israeli Prime Minsiter Yitzhak Rabin, a former General and Oslo Accords signee is murdered by a Yemen descendent ultra-nationalist Israeli jew.

1996 9 & 13 August  the US embassy in Yemen helped Hayel Saeed Anam Group HQ general manager Mohamad A. Salem source industrial quantities of the explosive chemicals used in the manufacture of TNT.

1996 14 August — a United Press International article quotes a new State Department fact sheet released: “Earlier, during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, Usama Bin Ladin drew on his family’s wealth ‘plus donations received from sympathetic merchant families in the Gulf region’ to organize the Islamic Salvation Foundation, or al-Qaida. The group established recruitment centers in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan that enlisted and sheltered thousands of Arab recruits to fight the Soviets. ‘This network remains active,’ the State Department said.” (The spelling is the same as in the original.)

1997 18 March  Three Hayel Saeed Anam Group family members become directors of a Cayman Islands based financial shell company called Atlantic Investments. That shell company was established in 1994 by three members of the Morgan St Claire family of the British tax haven island Jersey.

1997 April — Executives of the Hayel Saeed Anam Group's London office, Longulf Trading, visit a printing and packaging exhibition and purchase $3-million of machinery to furnish KSM’s front company YemPak, short for Yemen / Pakistan collaberation I was later told. Our ex-Special forces US sales agent Dave Dean left the sales stand just before the Longulf executives arrived and returned just after they’d left. The next day a British ambassador visited the exhibition and our sales stand.

1997 20 May — Longulf Trading executives create a British company called Cepac Limited. They purchased Britain’s three biggest cardboard packaging manufacturers and amalgamated them into one industry giant. All owned by the Hayel Saeed Anam Group, as is Indonesida’s largest palm oil concession.

1997 20-26 September — On the last day of a business trip (installing a machine) to the YemPak factory inside the Hayel Saeed Anam Group’s secure headquarters compound in Taiz, I was introduced to ‘the Engineer’. That was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Thirty minutes later I was at an unscheduled meeting at a secluded collection of buildings in a semi-enclosed valley one mile from Al Qa’idah town ( 13.759, 44.141 ). I was taken to that meeting by Mohamad, the Hayel Saeed Anam Group HQ general manager. Those meetings happened after I had warned the two Pakistani chemistry graduates I was training about a 9/11 style attack. They’d asked me about visiting the USA as tourists & I told them to avoid the World Trade Centre and be aware of sucide  hijacking threats (I told them to fight back) when flying. Was general manager Mohamad the same Mohamad A. Salem noted as the US embassy contact for the supply of industrial quantities of Toluene and other TNT associated chemicals in August 1996? I don’t know, but it certainly looks like it.

1997 September — Future 9/11 hijacker/pilot Ziad Jarrah abruptly switches from dentistry studies to aircraft engineering in Hamburg, where he joins the Hamburg Cell.

1997 7 November — Former US ambassador to Yemen (1997- 30 Aug 2001) Barbara Bodine later said:

“When I got there in 1997 there was already an Al Qaida presence.
We knew about it. The Yemenis knew about it. Everyone knew about it."

1997 16 November — Future 9/11 hijacker/pilot Hani Hanjour re-entered the USA and resumed his English language and commercial pilot training. He was soon joined by future 9/11 hijacker Nawaf Hazmi, a Saudi veteran of the 1990s Afghan and Bosnian conflicts. I believe this was the first reconnaissance and preparation mission specifically for the 9/11 plot, prompted by my travel warnings given at the Hayel Saeed Anam Group HQ in September 1997 Yemen.

1997 December  a dissident Qatari former police chief (1972-77) in exile warns CIA agent Robert Baer that KSM ‘is going to hijack some planes’. Baer said he passed the warning to his superiors but 'no one was interested’.

1998 — The dissident Qatari former police chief in exile who warned the CIA that “Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is going to hijack some planes”, was kidnaped and illegally renditioned by Qatari agents and then imprisoned for ten years - by the absolute monarchy that hosted KSM in 1995/96.

1998 7 August — Sophisticated TNT bombs are used to attack the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Hundreds are killed and thousands more injured. Many suffer eye injuries and permanent blindness in a neighbouring secretarial school, caused by shards of glass acting as secondary-fragmentation. The first suspect questioned by the FBI gave a phone number in Sanaa Yemen that he'd called to get money and a new passport after surviving the explosion he’d caused.

1998 10 October — Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s nephew Ammar al-Baluchi opens a bank account in Dubai that is used for preparations of and funding for the 9/11 attacks.

2000 12 October  Suicide attackers struck the USS Cole - a US navy ship refuelling in Aden harbour Yemen - with an explosive laden small boat. Seventeen US personnel are killed.

2001 9 September Two assassins posing as journalists, sent and vouched for by Abdul Rasul Sayyaf, succeed in their task. Ahmad Shah Massoud was murdered two days before 9/11.

2001 17 September — CNN: In a statement issued to the Arabic satellite channel Al Jazeera, based in Qatar, Osama bin Laden said, "The U.S. government has consistently blamed me for being behind every occasion its enemies attack it. I would like to assure the world that I did not plan the recent attacks, which seems to have been planned by people for personal reasons. I have been living in the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan and following its leaders' rules. The current leader does not allow me to exercise such operations.”

2001 26 September —Journalist Rahimullah Yusufzai writes in the Guardian newspaper: "The Egyptian Jihad leader Dr Ayman Al-Zawahiri had telephoned me at my office. Bin Laden was sitting next to him; Al-Zawahiri said and wanted to stress that he was not involved in the bombings."

2001 October  the first CIA unit in Afghanistan visited Abdul Rasul Sayyaf. Operator Gary Schroen says he paid Sayyaf $100,000; I suspect he paid him ten or one hundred times that much.

2002 29 August — The Hayel Saeed Anam Group linked MIGA and Ahmed Idris Nasreddin are added to US Treasury and United Nations watchlists of entities and individuals belonging to, or affiliated with Al Qaeda. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill in August 2002 described Nada and Nasreddin as "supporters of terrorism" involved in "an extensive financial network providing support to Al Qaeda and other terrorist-related organizations.” They were quietly removed from the watchlist in 2007, after promising not to do it again.

2003 14 December — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf is appointed to the 502-delegate loya jirga convened in Kabul, Afghanistan.

2004 26 July — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf is named eight times in the 9/11 Military Commission report for, amongst other things, his employing training and mentoring 9/11 terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in the 1980s & 90s!

2007 15 November — MIGA and Ahmed Idris Nasreddin are quietly removed from the United Nations watchlist of entities and individuals belonging to, or affiliated with Al Qaeda. The US Treasury said Nasreddin “no longer fits the criteria for designation” because he has submitted signed statements to the Office of Foreign Assets Control certifying that he has terminated any business relationships with Nada, Bank al Taqwa, “and any other designated individuals and entities, and that he will have no such dealings in the future.” Mr Nasreddin essentially said he wouldn’t do it again. Abdul Rahman of the Hayel Saeed Anam Group explained his relationship with Nasreddin away by saying he’d forgot (about the power of attorney) and they weren’t friends anymore.

2014 5 April — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf ran for President of Afghanistan - he got 7.1% of the first round vote.

2018 16 March — Belgium decided to end the 99-year rent-free lease of the Great Mosque building in Brussels to Saudi and transferred it to the Muslim Executive of Belgium instead.  In 2018 Belgium ended the building lease to Saudi, transferring it to the Muslim Executive of Belgium instead. That was the recommendation of the 2016 Brussels bombings investigation, that implicated the Muslim World league run Great Mosque with the attackers.

2018 17 September — NATO’s senior civilian representative for Afghanistan Stefano Pontecorvo of Italy expressed NATO’s ‘strong support’ for Abdul Rasul Sayyaf in a tweeted video conference call with Sayyaf.

2021 14 August — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf was the first government minister to disappear (between meeings) as the Taliban waited patiently at the gates of Kabul.

2022 10 January — Abdul Rasul Sayyaf was in NATO member country Turkey (source: twitter photo)
